Ruttan's exhibition "Trusted Everywhere by Everyone..." is currently on display in the gallery. Maison Kasini recently released Printoptik, a book about his work and a limited edition folio of small prints called "Big Winner".
Ashley Roark creates collage using post-industrial office supplies; papers with pale muted tones, texture, pattern, and typography.
Maison Kasini invited Roark to Montreal where she spent much of the week sourcing materials from around the Belgo Building, downtown Montreal, the Village, and Mile End.
The results of her work are on view at Galerie Maison Kasini.
Enter into the detailed world of halftones, ink bleed, and paper fibres. “Carl David Ruttan: Trusted Everywhere by Everyone...” zooms into the micro-world of print. Ruttan collects and collages the paper ephemera he finds while traveling. Back in Montreal, Ruttan scans the collages at extremely high resolution, and produces one unique print to accompany the original collage as the final, archivally stable work of art.
