Maison Kasini releases Alan Ganev’s “Amuse Bouche” limited-edition folio

“Amuse Bouche” by Alan Ganev
Limited edition folio

An amuse bouche is a small, bite-sized hors d’oeuvre offered by the chef as an introduction to his cooking. In this spirit, Maison Kasini is pleased to offer a folio of six prints by Costa Rican-born, Montreal artist Alan Ganev.

“Amuse Bouche” is a folio of six, 12”x12” prints by Alan Ganev: Passing By, F&B, Sterling, BUBLÉ, Pajarito, and Killing Appetite.  The folios are presented in a black sleeve and signed by the artist. The folio will be officially released at Papier 11, Montreal’s contemporary art fair of works on paper, April 14th to April 17th, 2011. The original six works will debut at Rouge 58 in Brooklyn in May 2011.

About Alan Ganev

Originally from Costa Rica, collage artist Alan Ganev has been calling Montreal home for several years. Ganev is meticulous in his process. He cuts the images delicately and is exact about the position and alignment of the elements in the composition. The compositions are rich, yet simple, using no more than three images, some geometrical shapes and bright colours.

Ganev says about his work: “I spend hours going through forgotten publications looking for images to steal my attention. Once I choose a couple of images I want to work with, these images start sending me messages, and as a result, I start making connections with them. Sometimes these connections are profound and emotional and some other times they are casual and humorous.”

Alan Ganev is currently completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design at Concordia University and is also a co-founder of CEASE, a non-profit artist collective in Montreal that diffuses art through events, blog, magazine and art initiative.

Details: 6 prints measuring 12” x 12” on paper | The folio is presented loose in a black sleeve with a white label | 2011 | Edition of 50 | $50.00
